Auralgan is prescribed to reduce the inflammation and congestion and relieve the pain and discomfort of severe middle ear infections. This drug may be used in combination with an antibiotic for curing the infection.

Most important fact about this drug
Discard this product 6 months after the dropper is first placed in the drug solution.

How should you use this medication?
Use this medication exactly as prescribed. Administer as follows:


Warm the drops to body temperature by holding the bottle in your hand for a few minutes.
Shake the bottle.
Lie on your side or tilt the affected ear up.
Gently pull the ear lobe up.
Administer the prescribed number of drops.
Avoid touching the dropper to the ear.
Keep the ear tilted up for about 5 to 7 minutes.

Do not rinse the dropper; replace it in the bottle after each use. Hold the dropper assembly by the screw cap and, without squeezing the rubber bulb, insert the dropper into the bottle and screw down tightly.


What side effects may occur?
Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. For Auralgan, no specific side effects have been reported.

Why should this drug not be prescribed?
If you are sensitive to or allergic to any of the ingredients contained in Auralgan or similar drugs, you should not take this medication. Make sure your doctor is aware of any drug reactions you have experienced.

Unless directed to do so by your doctor, do not use this medication if you have a punctured eardrum.

Special warnings about this medication
Notify your doctor if irritation occurs or if you develop an allergic reaction to this medication.
