Basic Information:Proluton Depot is a synthetic hormone similar to the natural female sex hormone progesterone.
It is used in the prevention of spontaneous abortion in women with a history of recurrent miscarriage (habitual abortion). Spontaneous abortion occurs when the body's levels of progesterone drop below the required level to maintain pregnancy. Therefore hydroxyprogesterone is used to maintain these levels and prevent miscarriage.
